BLIESE POSTS WIN AT BLACK HILLS

Rapid City, SD (June 27, 2008) - As an airman stationed at nearby Ellsworth Air Force Base, Kevin Bliese had spent many summer Friday nights watching racing on the historic Black Hills Speedway 1/2-mile race track.

With the track returned to its longtime configuration after six years as a 3/8-mile oval, Bliese did more than dream about racing at BHS on Friday night. Bliese, now a third-generation racer from Aberdeen, SD, drove his #31 WISSOTA Midwest Modified to a clean sweep in the third race night of the season at the rebuilding oval east of Rapid City.

Bliese, son of former Modified stock car and vintage driver Mick Bliese of Gettysburg, SD, made the long trek westward pay off when he won both the heat and feature.

"We decided to make the long haul out here after Miller Speedway rained out," explained Bliese. "I grew up watching races on this old 1/2 mile. I always wanted to give it a try."

Blese didn't have long to celebrate; he had to hot-foot across the state to defend his current second place standing in the points at Huron's Dakota State Fair Speedway.
